![]() ![]() ![]() Run something I did in the past before to make a VM out of the BESR backup. METHOD TWO: Add the disk to my host, but as an extra disk, not the boot disk. Then run some VMware utility (of which I'm not currently aware) to port that boot disk over to a virtual machine. METHOD ONE: Add the disk to my host, but as an extra disk, not the boot disk. How can I get from this boot disk to a working VM guest? I can imagine two methods, but want to be sure first. I also have Symantec BESR (Backup Exec and System Recovery). I have a lose Win98 boot disk, taken off of a failed legacy motherboard (and with indispensable irreplaceable legacy program source code and compiler). If you are too busy, skip this for now!))) Nevertheless, give suggestions if you have time. I finally found the doc on how to do this. PERHAPS HOLD OFF ON THIS FOLKS, while I re-educate myself a little first. Also, don't have available working old motherboard onto which to put actual disk on as boot.))) Just having difficulting finding old backup that's an image and not just source files. I'm searching for old BESR backup, onto which I can later copy new source code files. I now realize I can convert from remote machine or third party (BESR) backup. ![]()
